This solemn day is observed each year on the third Friday of September. Commemorations will continue through the weekend.
Presidential Proclamation - President Bush will make an official
(click here) Proclaimation for National POW/MIA Recognition Day, 2003 The White House is expected to issue a Presidential Proclamation prior to September 19. The Proclamation will be posted here and on www.whitehouse.gov as soon as it is issued.
